Don’t Call it a Comeback: Bruce Cook’s Big Return to Hamilton

August 3, 2017

The North America Nitro Circus Live Tour is heading to Hamilton, Canada this weekend. And while the approach is the same for every show we do, some shows have added significance that inspires us to take it up a notch. Annapolis was huge because it’s Travis Pastrana and several Nitro Circus veterans’ hometown crowd. For Canadian FMX star Bruce Cook, this will be his first show in Hamilton since his crash in ’14 when he lost the use of his legs. His bounce back has been epic. In just three years, he’s become a popular member of the live tour, the subject of a documentary, and record holder for being the World’s First paraplegic to backflip a motorcycle.

Still, you could hardly fault Bruce for having pre-show jitters. “Show day will be my first time back in Hamilton since my injury, and I’m really looking forward to it! I’m just stoked to get a good show done and get that off my back,” Bruce says. But it’s more than that. Bruce is Canadian. “It’s just awesome putting on shows on home turf. We travel all over the world in front of amazing crowds, but there’s something special about doing it in your home country. You can definitely feel the love from everyone,” he says. “I’m really looking forward to the Hamilton crowd. They were so amazing after my accident with hundreds of messages of support and well wishes – it’s going to be awesome to kind of give back a bit and put down a successful run!” Check out some recent highlights below:

What’s next for Bruce Cook? “This year will be a whole lot more shows all over North America then on to South Africa in October as well as shooting some stuff for Travis Pastrana’s Action Figures 2 where I’m hoping to do more stuff on my bike, rzr and maybe try my hand on a snowmobile,” he says. Whatever he plans to do, we know he’ll send it.
