Nothing Can Stop Kurtis Downs From Going Big in 2017

March 7, 2017

BMX superstar Kurtis Downs is one of those athletes who prefers to let his actions do the talking. And those actions had a lot to say during the first two legs of our 2017 tour. Kurtis had an incredible series of shows all over New Zealand and Japan to kick off 2017, despite a foot injury that happened a couple shows into the first leg of the tour. One of the the highlights was this World First BMX stripper flip in Invercargill, New Zealand, a show for which he was awarded the MVC:

That foot injury continued to dog the famously tough athlete during the tight pack of shows that followed, but you wouldn’t have known it by watching him. Kurtis earned his spot on tour riding contraptions before proving his considerable skills on BMX. He was recently invited directly to the 2017 Nitro World Games semifinals as a result of his second-place finish in BMX Best Tricks in 2016. Any way you slice it, 2017 is shaping up to be another banner year for Kurtis. Check out more highlights from his Japan and New Zealand shows:
