The Most Epic Moments From Travis Pastrana’s First Hometown Show
It was a night that Travis Pastrana, the Nitro Crew, and the city of Annapolis will never forget. After more than a decade of touring the world, Travis got to bring Nitro Circus Live to his hometown for the first time ever. It was not without its challenges in the lead-up as well as on show day. Wet weather caused a delayed start and an extended intermission, but the Crew came to show Annapolis what they’re all about, and they absolutely did. Despite the sometimes heavy rain, the crowd (which by early estimates is one of the largest we’ve ever had in North America) was hyped and stayed through it all. Gregg Duffy, Streetbike Tommy, Jolene Van Vugt, Special Greg Powell, and Jim DeChamp, who are also Maryland locals, were all there and stoked about the hometown show. The rest of the Nitro Crew also showed up in force to throw down for Annapolis.
There were so many huge moments to go through that we can’t begin to explain them all. But a couple that deserve special mention: In honor of the occasion, Travis landed a double backflip for the first time in years, sending the crowd and the Crew into a frenzy. Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham absolutely nailed a wheelchair frontflip. Duffy landed a huge frontflip nac. And in the final FMX train of the night, two riders went for frontflips: Harry Bink and Steve Mini. Steve had a massive crash on that one, which he’s going to feel tomorrow, but no permanent harm done.
