Axell "Slay" Hodges, born on August 20, 1996, in Encinitas, California, is an X Games gold medal motocross competitor known for his multifaceted athletics and style. Hodges grew up watching his father and two older brothers racing dirt bikes, and he began riding at age eight. In 2012, he made waves by winning the F Class Loretta Lynn's Amateur Championship, the world's largest amateur motocross race.
