Mark your calendars: This weekend, Aug. 10-11, the first events of the 2018 Nitro World Games will be streaming live on the Nitro World Games Facebook page. All-new skateboard events this year include Men’s and Women’s Skateboard Park, with analysts Tony Hawk, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins Pastrana, and Corbin Harris calling the competition. Todd Richards will be hosting the action, and Laurette Nicoll will be reporting from the floor.

Both park events will go down at the renowned CA | TF in Vista, California. Competitors will have three 45-second runs, with their best run counting. From the starting field, eight athletes will move on to the finals, where the format is the same: best run of three determines the final standings.

On the Men’s side, carrying momentum from a 1st place finish in Minneapolis, Alex Sorgente has set his sights on Vista and is looking to make 2018 a banner year on his resume. Chasing close behind is Tristan Rennie,Pedro Barros, and Clay Kreiner who all know they have a good shot at a Nitro World Games podium.

Rounding out the Men’s field is a talented group of skaters that includes Cory Juneau, Heimana Reynolds, Ronnie Sandoval, Chris Russell, Ben Hatchell, Ivan Federico, Kevin Kowalski, Trey Wood, Willy Lara, Jagger Eaton, Murilo Peres, Vinicius Kakinho, Roman Pabich, Luiz Francisco, Patrick Ryan, Jake Wooten, Tate Carew, Andy Anderson, and Greyson Fletcher.

On the Women’s side, fresh off of her 1st place finish in Minneapolis, Brighton Zeuner is not looking to be stopped anytime soon as she heads to Vista to collect another medal for her trophy shelf. Running close behind her is Sakura YosozumiYndiara Asp, and Nicole Hause who all placed in the top 5 at X Games and are looking to take the top spot away from Zeuner.

Completing the women’s roster is a skilled group of athletes that includes Allysha Le, Arianna Carmona, Bryce Wettstein, Hanna Zanzi, Kihanna Ogawa, Kisa Nakamura, Lizzie Armanto, Nora Vasconcellos, Poppy Starr Olsen, Grace Marhoefer, and Minna Stess.

Also among the competitors are two hopeful up-and-comers: the first two winners of Nitro World Games: Unlocked. Rookies Liam Pace and Kody Tamanaha will have a chance to go head-to-head with seasoned veterans as they look to upset the competition. Catch up on their stories and subscribe to be notified when the competition starts at Facebook.com/NitroWorldGames.
