BMX legend Ryan Williams has done it again, taking home the gold medal at X Games Minneapolis in BMX Big Air, his third straight win in this event. Jarryd McNeil scored a gold in Moto X Step Up, his fourth gold in a row in this event and his 13th X Games medal overall. Josh Sheehan will be bringing home two medals: a bronze in Moto X Best Trick and a silver in Moto X Freestyle, bringing his X Games medal total to 10 for his career.
R-Willy’s winning run was his signature nothing front bikeflip into a huge frontflip flair on the quarter — two huge tricks that alone likely would have cemented a win for him — but as you’ll hear from the announcers in that video, the standout moment was the first-ever backflip into the drop-in.
McNeil’s fourth Step Up gold in a row is a new record at X Games, and his 13th medal overall makes him one of the most decorated athletes ever. Sheehan’s two podiums also elevate him to an elite group of double-digit medalists.
